“Our customers will benefit, as they can now choose whether they want to buy their solar panels without any pre-payment from NovaVolt, or buy them at once from its sister company BonGo Solar,” said Hans Bouhof, CEO, Energy Experience Group.

“This will make it easier for people to become what we call ‘prosumers’, who not only produce the electricity they consume, but they also sell some of it back to the grid”, said John Grollé, General Manager NovaVolt.

Currently, only 10% of Dutch homes have installed solar panels according to Holland Solar, but the market is set to expand dramatically in the years ahead.

“Combining the resources of NovaVolt and BonGo Solar will help us scale up quickly and increase our share of this fast-growing market,” said Hans Bouhof, CEO Energy Experience Group.

BonGo Solar and NovaVolt will work closely together to support each other’s’ growth.

“This acquisition will help both our companies understand the solar industry better. We will learn from each other and find efficiencies,” said Alfred Breggeman, director of the solar branch of Koolen Industries.

As solar power becomes more popular, consumers will also see prices fall.

“The solar panel installation industry is maturing, which means economies of scale become more important. With this acquisition we will be able to reduce costs while at the same time delivering better quality solar power solutions. This fits well into our mission of clean and affordable energy for everyone,” said Kees Koolen, Chairman and CEO, Koolen Industries.

BonGo Solar and NovaVolt are now looking at expansion opportunities outside the Netherlands as well, like Spain, France and Sweden.
